Gorilla Glass is the trademark name that U.S. glassmaker company Corning has named for their alkali-aluminosilicate sheet glass used on smartphones and tablets.  This type of glass is scratch-resistant and is resistant from cracking.  Gorilla Glass 3 will be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show next week in Las Vegas and it is expected to be three times more scratch resistant than Gorilla Glass 2.  Corning Gorilla Glass 3 will have 40% less scratches visible to the human eye according to The Verge.  These improvements are expected to be called “Native Damage Resistance.”
