Crowd Fusion Acquires Ceros

Crowd Fusion is a content management company that has acquired London-based Ceros. Crowd Fusion will be changed their name to Ceros in the process. Crowd Fusion Brian Alvey said that the combined companies will focus more on Ceros’ SaaS product for brands, retailers, and marketers instead of their enterprise CMS publishing services. However they will continue to support their CMS customers like TMZ, ExtraTV, and The Daily.

?We are not abandoning existing publishing customers who have contracts with us at all, but we haven?t taken on any new publishing customers in a while,? stated Brian Alvey in an email interview with AllThingsD. ?For now, we will be supporting both our open-ended Crowd Fusion enterprise CMS for publishers and our Ceros product for brands.?

Ceros CEO Simon Berg will become the head of the combined company. Alvey will become chief scientist and chairman. Crowd Fusion raised $3 million sinc eit was founded 3 years ago from investors like Greycroft, Fuse Capital, and Andreessen Horowitz. The combined companies have 33 employees now.
