CrowdFlower Hits 1 Billion Judgments

is a service that uses real-time crowd labor to help collect, filter, and enhance your data.  The company has hit 1 billion “judgments” this past week.  Judgments include determining whether an image is inappropriate and how eBay can improve their products.

According to TechCrunch, the billionth judgment was made by someone in Cariacica, Brazil.  That Crowdflower user verified database details about an a small Australian business for a U.S. based company.

Founded by Chris Van Pelt and Lukas Biewald, CrowdFlower now has over 5 million contributors.  The company recently announced the ability to test users for skills so that the platform can identify “higher value crowds.”

Crowdflower has raised over $13 million in funding since launching.
