David Van Sickle is a scholar at the University of Wisconsin in Madison in the Department of Population Health Sciences. He is working on a project that is able to track recurring asthma attacks. Sickle is working with several students in the biomedical engineering division to create an asthma inhaler with built-in GPS. The GPS built into the inhalers will then cross-reference with other GPS-enabled inhalers to report trends and locations undetected by asthma researchers.
“It will allow us to better target public-health interventions to the places and times when people are really suffering,” stated Sickle. Currently Sickle is asking for interested participants to contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
