DFJ Growth raises $470 million for later-stage investments

DFJ Growth is an investment division run by Draper Fisher Jurvetson and is focused on later-stage technology startups. DFJ Growth has raised $470 million for its latest fund. This was an oversubscribed round that was originally intended to be only $350 million. DFJ has made several investments already out of this fund for companies like DataStax, Formlabs, Foursquare, SimpliVity, and SpaceX. The focus points for this fund will be in areas that have not seen much attention in the last couple of years. This is DFJ Growth?s third fund since launching in 2006 and it raised $405 million about a year ago. DFJ also closed the $325 million DFJ Venture XI fund for early-stage investments in February 2014. DFJ Growth has raised a total of $1.165 billion for later-stage investments.
