Dish Network has done a lot better than analysts were expecting. Today Dish Network said that they lost 10,000 net subscribers, which is well below the 135,000 that they lost one year ago.
According to a regulatory filing, chairman Charlie Ergen said that they have added 665,000 new subscribers with a monthly churn of 1.6%. They do not expect to report the quarterly results until next month.
“We feel much better than expected sub numbers should ease investor fears about Dish’s core business, which many were nervous about heading into earnings,” said Wells Fargo analyst Marci Ryvicker. She was projecting an addition of 577,000 with a decline of 119,000 subscribers.
