Dropbox Updates iOS App To Version 3.0

Dropbox has updated their iOS app to support the new iOS 7 design and AirDrop.  The new Dropbox iOS app was built from the ground up to incorporate the new design and it has a revamped white/blue icon that is flatter than the previous icon.  Dropbox also changed around the icons on the menu bar to become flat.  The menus and navigations seamlessly fit the iOS 7 user interface.  There is also improved sharing and exporting features for working with files on other apps.

“The new Dropbox app is a bit like a new beginning for Dropbox on iOS. While many things will feel familiar, we hope you’ll notice the small tweaks that make a pretty big difference. And maybe best of all, it sets the stage for some exciting things to come,” stated Dropbox in a blog post.

Dropbox added AirDrop support in the new app.  This lets users of recent iOS devices share files over the air with each other through WiFi and Bluetooth.  This feature works with the the iPhone 5, iPad 4th gen., iPad mini, and iPod touch 5th gen.  Dropbox also made performance improvements like a quicker photo uploads, faster launch, and video playback.

Dropbox has a new iPad feature that lets users tap on files and photos to toggle fullscreen mode.
