Ferrari has announced that Eddy Cue has joined the board of directors at the company. Mr. Cue is known for heading up the Apple iTunes Store. He recently took over the development of iOS Maps and Siri.
It is likely that if Steve Jobs was still running Apple, he would not let Eddy Cue join Ferrari because he was adamant about company executives not being on other boards of directors.
He wanted directors to focus on their work at Apple. The one exception he made was allowing Tim Cook to join Nike’s board of directors in 2005. Nike and Apple worked closely on the development of fitness apps on iPods and iPhones.
Will we see closer Ferrari and Apple integrations now? It’s very possible.
