Epson announces Pulsense wrist wearable devices

Epson has announced a new wrist wearable device line called Pulsense. The Pulsense devices are focused on health and fitness. There is also a developer program that is used for making apps for the device.

Pulsense can track heart rate, activity level, sleep pattern, and calories burned. Products in the Pulsense line includes the PS-100 wristband and PS-500 watch. Both of these devices will ship this summer and is available for pre-order. The PS-100 costs $129 and the PS-500 costs $199.

?The Pulsense product line will be Epson?s first smart wrist wearable devices to leverage the company?s patented Bio sensing technology. These products showcase Seiko Epson?s heritage in wrist watch technology and consumer electronics manufacturing. Pulsense has set the performance and features benchmark for the next generation of activity monitors. With additional core technologies in Swing and Location sensing, consumers can expect to see more smart products coming from Epson addressing the needs of the health, fitness and sports segments of the wearables market,? stated Epson’s Anna Jen.
