Online ticketing service Eventbrite has reportedly raised $50 million in funding at a $1 billion valuation. This round of funding came from Tiger Global Management and T. Rowe Price.
Eventbrite has been a potential candidate for going public for a while, but the company raised $60 million in a new round of funding this past April. This gave Eventbrite the flexibility to push back an IPO for a while.
After Eventbrite hired former Shutterfly chief financial officer Mark Rubash that month, it led to rumors of a 2014 IPO. Eventbrote has now raised a total of $190 million in funding. Eventbrite’s gross ticket sales hit over $1 billion in the U.S. last year and the company is going to focus on international expansion for this round.
