Evernote Updates Android App To Version 5.0

Posted Mar 25, 2013

Evernote has released a new version of their Android app today.  Known as Evernote for Android version 5.0, the company has added new photo and search features to their app.  Evernote for Android 5.0 has several new home screen widgets too.

In the updated Android app, Evernote has a multishot feature where users can take multiple photos of a moment and save them without ever having to leave the in-app camera.  Another new feature in the app is known as “page camera,” which treats the built-in camera as a scanner-like function.  The page camera finds the edges of a document, improves the contrast, and removes the shadows so that it looks like the document was actually scanned instead of photographed.

Evernote’s premium service has a document search feature that can index keywords in the Microsoft Office, iWork, and Open Office documents.  Words that are found inside of those documents can be found when searching through PDFs for them.

You can download the Evernote Android app from Google Play now.
