Existing Investor Tiger Global Puts $75 Million In WordPress Parent Automattic

Tiger Global Management has led a $75 million purchase of Automattic’s stock.  Tiger Global’s purchase was mostly in the form of a buy from existing Automattic venture capital investor Polaris Partners.

Automattic is known for running the open-source blog platform WordPress.org and the community-driven blog platform WordPress.com.

The Wall Street Journal reports that this deal is a 25% higher valuation from the deal that Tiger Global made with Automattic back in May.  Tiger Global bought $50 million worth of stock from Automattic’s shareholders around then.
