This past August, Facebook updated their iOS mobile application to support native code rather than use HTML5. Up until yesterday, Facebook’s Android mobile application was slow and clunky because it was still using HTML5. Facebook for Android 2.0 is twice as fast as the last version and the app launches quicker. The News Feed, notifications, and Timeline feature was made to run quicker on Android too.
You can tap on any photo to open it right away and scroll through photo albums without leaving the news feed. You can also go to your Timeline and view updates and photos quicker.
You can download the new Facebook Android app from Google Play now.
