Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is bringing back the f8 one-day conference, but it will be more developer-focused. The last time that Facebook held an f8 conference was in 2011 when the Facebook Timeline and Ticker was introduced. The f8 conference will be taking place on April 30th at the San Francisco Design Concourse. Facebook f8 will launch with an introduction from an executive that may not be Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg himself.
The theme of this conference sounds like it could revolve around mobile. Facebook may make announcements related to the acquisition of Parse and mobile app ads. Facebook tarted a test with partner ad companies in January to show Facebook ads in mobile apps.
“This year, we’re going back to our roots and having a pure developer conference,” stated Parse CEO Ilya Sukar in an interview with CNET. “F8 will open with a morning keynote, followed by four tracks that will cover getting-started guides, technical best practices, infrastructure strategies, engineering deep dives, and advertising tips for making your app or game highly successful.”
The f8 conference will have space for 1,500 developers that will need to apply for a spot to attend. The registration details will be announced in a few weeks.
