After acquiring a company called Karma, Facebook has started preparing to launch a social gifting application according to TheNextWeb. Facebook had acquired Karma for roughly around $80 million. Facebook’s social gift-giving service will likely launch in a few weeks and it will be largely based on Karma’s current service. The service will likely only be based in the U.S. at the point of launch. The new service is part of the company’s aim to build a monetization strategy around mobile services. The service is rumored to be called Facebook Gifts. InsideFacebook found this in a Facebook job posting last night.
