Facebook Inc (FB) is testing “Missed Call” ads in India

Posted Jul 3, 2014

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has created a new advertising platform for users in India that utilize feature phones. Many people in India use a “missed call” to indicate that they have arrived or would like someone to “call back” in order to avoid high voice charges there. When a person in India sees an ad on Facebook, they can place a “missed call” by clicking a button from the ad from the mobile device. The button quickly calls and hangs up on the brand. The brand will return a call with valuable content like ringtones, celebrity messages, and cricket scores. Facebook will be scaling the advertising platform in the next few months.
