Felicis Ventures was created by early Google employee Aydin Senkut. Felicis has just closed a $70 million round of funding that will be used to invest in technology companies in the mobile, health, and education sectors. Senkut said that he is planning to use the funding to back companies that have solid revenue sources and potential for an large public offerings or acquisitions.
In the top quarter of Felicis’ portfolio, annualized revenues were at over $800 million combined. Felicis’ portfolio company Mint.com was acquired by Intuit for $170 million in 2009. Another portfolio company, Karma, was acquired by Facebook for over $80 million last month. And Felicis’ investment in Rovio could really pay off as they are considering an IPO in 2013.
