FireEye Shares Jumps 16%

FireEye went public on Friday and the company’s shares jumped 16 points.  FireEye is an online security company.  The company raised $304 million from the IPO with a market cap of $2.3 billion.

FireEye opened at $20 per share and ended up closing at $36 on the NASDAQ.  Founded in 2004, FireEye uses a virtualization engine that protects companies from attacks through the web and e-mail.

In terms of venture capital, FireEye raised $50 million in funding from Sequoia Capital, Norwest Venture Partners, Goldman Sachs, Juniper Networks, and Silicon Valley Bank.
