Flappy Bird is a game that has surged to the top of the app store rankings. The game was created by Vietnamese developer Dong Nguyen and it is now making $50,000 per day in ad revenues. Flappy Bird has been at the top of the app stores for around a month now.

The game lets you control a small pixelated bird upwards, but you are not supposed to hit any of the green pipes. The green pipes look similar to the ones that we have seen in the Super Mario franchise.

The goal is to hit the highest score possible. Flappy Bird has been downloaded around 50 million times and has around 47,000 reviews, according to The Verge.

Nguyen created the game after coming home from work and spending a few nights coding. One of the ways that the game went viral is because it is easy to compare scores with friends on Facebook and Twitter.
