Flaregames is a German mobile game startup that has raised $12.2 million in VC funding from Accel Partners and T-Venture. Founded in 2011 by Klaas Kersting, Flaregames creates mid-core games for mobile devices. Flaregames will be using the funding to hire additional talent and for marketing.

Flaregames launched a mobile game called BraveSmart in May 2012 and the revenues at the company has grown to seven figures per month. The company also recently launched its Royal Revolt mobile game series. Royal Revolt II launched in February and reached around 1.5 million downloads on Android and iOS within 10 days.

?There is a great market opportunity for a games publishing entity that has marketing and monetization expertise as well as strong roots in development. Flaregames has already transformed its organization from a self-publishing developer to a developing publisher and has demonstrated its ability to make games that are both pro?table and loved by gamers,? stated Harry Nelis, partner at Accel Partners and member of ?aregames?s board of advisors.

Flaregames has raised $23 million in total funding from Accel Partners, T-Venture, and another undisclosed investor. The company has 70 employees across Karlsruhe and Frankfurt.
