Photo social network Flickr has turned 10 years old. Flickr, owned by Yahoo!, launched on February 10, 2004. Flickr now has almost 2 million groups that shares around one million photos per day.
“It’s exciting for me to celebrate Flickr’s birthday!” stated Flickr co-founder Stewart Butterfield said in a statement. “When we dreamed this photo site 10 years ago, we couldn’t have imagined the impact it would have on digital photo sharing and the way it would connect people worldwide. I am proud of Flickr and excited for what’s ahead.”
Flickr was redesigned last May and the free storage limit was increased to 1 terabyte. Flickr also has new iOS and Android apps.
