FoodSpotting is a food social network mobile application that has surpassed in over 18 months after the service launched. FoodSpotting recently redesigned an iPhone and Android app. FoodSpotting is also working on a new BlackBerry and Windows Phone app. FoodSpotting co-founder and CEO Alexa Andrzejewski said that they had about 300,000 app users at about nine months after launch.
FoodSpotting is a way to share your photos of your favorite food and find food in restaurants near you. The new FoodSpotting app will make it easy to follow food-related brands such as The Travel Channel and Wolfgang Puck. FoodSpotting is popular overseas too. Over 10,000 food dishes have been photographed in South East Asia. The company acquired Eat.ly in December. Some of their competitors include Dinevore and Nosh.me.
FoodSpotting raised over $3 million in funding from BlueRun Ventures, High Line Venture Partners, Felicis Ventures, 500 Startups, Zelkova Ventures, 2020Ventures, and several angel investors.
