Ford Is Investing $850 Million Across Their Michigan Facilities

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) has announced today that they are investing $850 million across their Michigan facilities over the next 3 years. This will create 1,200 jobs. Of these 1,200 jobs, 900 jobs will be hourly and 300 will be salaried. The investments will be spread through the Van Dyke transmission plant, Sterling Axle, the Livonia transmission plant, and the Dearborn Truck plants. The plants receiving the investment will be assembling six-speed transmissions. All Ford vehicles will have six-speed by 2013 according to The Detroit News. [Detroit News]
