Ford Motor Company is retiring the Econoline line of vehicles. The body-on-frame E-Series van will be retired after the 2013 model year. The van was first introduced in 1961, but because very popular in the 1970s. After the 2013 model year, Ford will shift to the unibody transit van that they have been shipping to Europe and the rest of the world. The Transit van will start being built in Kansas City next year. Another reason why Ford is switching to the Transit style is because of new fuel efficiency standards. [Yahoo! Autos]
