Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) has launched a couple of social media campaigns to promote the new 2013 Mustang and the 2013 Escape vehicles. The 2013 Mustang campaign was launched on Facebook ahead of the company’s debut of the vehicle at the 2011 LA Auto Show. The 2013 Escape social media campaign was conducted using Zynga’s Words With Friends.
The 2013 Ford Mustang Facebook profile page allows you to see a sneak peak of the new car. For every time 5,000 Facebook fans shared the badge from the profile, Ford would release a new image of the car. People on Facebook went nuts and Ford ended up having to reveal all 4 images. ?It looks like the passion our Ford Mustang fans have for 2013 has lead to an early reveal of all four Mustang images,? stated Ford. ?But we?re not done yet! In the Words With Friends promotion, Ford will allow players from across the U.S. to compete against actress Jenny McCarthy at the game. In the process, they will be able to win themselves a 2013 Escape. The game will be live-streamed on Facebook.com/fordescape and on Livestream.com/ford. This is the first time that Ford has partnered with Zynga on a social game.
?By revealing the new Escape through a popular social game like Words With Friends, Ford is able to expand its reach beyond traditional social channels to mobile platforms that engage a broader audience,? stated Ford U.S. director of marketing communications Matt VanDyke. ?This will be the first of a series of social gaming initiatives that are integrated into the launch of the Escape next year.?
