Ford Vehicles To Have Rolling Wi-Fi Service Through Sync Starting In 2010

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) announced that the will have Wi-Fi available in certain types of vehicles very soon. Ford cars and trucks that have SYNC technology built in will soon be able to access the Internet directly in the vehicle. It will use a hotspot card from a wireless provided which can be implanted into the SYNC dashboard. The service has been coined “rolling WiFi hotspots.”

This service is an add-on to other SYNC services. SYNC also allows drivers to have hands free calling, emergency assistance, traffic data, audible text messages, weather and news feeds, music search, and built-in navigation. SYNC was developed through a partnership between Ford and Microsoft.
