Location-based social network Foursquare has announced that it will charge businesses for access to its data, according to The Wall Street Journal. Foursquare users “check in” to locations. Foursquare has saved all of the check-ins from restaurants to parks. Foursquare used to offer access to this data for free. Around 63,000 organizations use Foursquare’s data. Foursquare currently generates most of its revenue from localized advertising.
