Foxconn is in talks with Sharp to produce iPhone displays

Foxconn, the large Asia-based electronics manufacturing company that builds iPhones and iPads, is reportedly in talks with Sharp to use their technology to help produce displays for the new iPhone. Apple also works with suppliers like LG Display, Samsung, and Japan Display.

Foxconn will work with Sharp to reduce bottlenecks in their supply chain. Apple is also looking to reduce its dependence on a smaller number of manufacturing partners. There is a bit of tension between Samsung and Apple as the two of them have been battling in the courts over patents.

Foxconn and Sharp have worked together in the past. Foxconn and Sharp worked together back in 2012. Foxconn bought shares in Foxconn during its financial crisis.
