Posted Jan 6, 2014

Garmin has announced a new Dash Cam at CES 2014. The Garmin Dash Cam is a dashboard camera for cars that has automatic incident detection. The Garmin Dash Cam records in WVGA, 720p, and 1080p. The Garmin Dash Cam comes with a 4GB microSD card, but the expansion supports up to 32GB.

There is a G-Sensor that lets the car detect hard braking and saves the recordings during and after the detected incident. The video is timestamped and location-stamped.

The Garmin Dash Cam has a 2.3-inch display for reviewing the video. It also has a suction cup mount and power cable. The Garmin Dash Cam costs $220 without the GPS and $250 with the GPS.
