Gene Munster: Apple Maps Issue Not Affecting iPhone 5 Demand

Posted Oct 1, 2012

Gene Munster is an analyst at Piper Jaffray that focuses mostly on Apple.  Munster is known for calling Apple suppliers and retail stores to put together analysis on the company.  Munster said that demand for the iPhone 5 is continuing to surge.

He said that he recently surveyed 20 Apple stores in the U.S. and found that iPhone 5 inventory was available at only four of them.  Those four stores are located in smaller cities.  And the iPhone 5 devices they had were for Sprint.

?Demand remains high,? said Munster. ?The bottom line is that consumers do not seem to be overly concerned about the shortcomings of Maps.?
