General Assembly is an education company that teaches people how to program and design. The company has raised $35 million in Series C funding led by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP). General Assembly has now raised a total of $49.3 million.
IVP general partner Todd Chaffee will join General Assembly?s board of directors. Other investors that participated in this round include GSV Capital, Rethink Education, and Western Technology Investment.
General Assembly was founded in 2011 in New York and has expanded to eight cities. General Assembly opened a campus in London last year. Around 100,000 people have participated in General Assembly and they have an alumni base of around 6,000 people. The company employs around 250 people.
