General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) will be adding two solar energy arrays in Michigan to increase the company total to 9. GM is building the 150-kilowatt solar panel installations in Swartz Creek and Flint.
The solar arrays will be completed this fall and will give the company 60 megawatts of renewable energy. When the project is completed this fall, the additions will give GM 60 megawatts of renewable energy among solar installations, landfill gas, and biomass energy globally.
GM is aiming to use 125 megawatts of renewable energy worldwide. GM is partnering with Consumers Energy on the projects. The arrays will be similar to the ones at GM’s assembly plants in Hamtramck and Orion Township.
