General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) said today that they will be recalling 292,879 Chevy Cruze models from the 2011-2012 model years.  This recall is due to potential intermittent loss of brake assist in the Cruze models that feature the combination of the 1.4-liter dual overhead cam gasoline turbo engine and the 6T40 FWD automatic transmission.  General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) said that they are aware of 27 alleged low-speed crashes due to brake issues that may include this issue, but no injuries were reported.  General Motors Company (NYSE:GM)  dealerships will replace a microswitch in the power brake vacuum pipe assembly.  The Cruze models were built at the company’s Lordstown, Ohio plant.
