German Court Dismisses Two Cases Between Apple And Samsung

Posted Mar 2, 2012

A court in Germany has dismissed two cases filed by Apple against Samsung. The decision was made by a regional court in Mannheim. Apple was claiming that Samsung infringed on their slide-to-lock technology as well as one of three patents Samsung claimed Apple violated. These two cases are one of several patent disputes between the two electronics giants.

In January, the court in Mannheim already ruled against Samsung regarding two other patents. There are causes regarding four additional patents held by Samsung and several others by Apple pending there. On March 16, the court is expected to make a decision about another slide-to-unlock suite Apple filed against Samsung. Apple first filed a lawsuit against Samsung in April and claimed that they slavishly copied the Apple iPhone and Apple iPad.
