Gild has announced that it has raised $13.5 million in Series B funding to help companies find talented engineers to hire. The ability to find talent is one of the biggest challenges for Silicon Valley based companies.
Founded by Luca Bonmassar and Sheeroy Desai, Gild said it helps employers find the best engineers based on work rather than resumes. Gild also looks at blogs, LinkedIn profiles, Github profiles, comment log activities, and programming styles. Gild has over 250 customers, including Microsoft, Gilt, TripAdvisor, American Eagle Outfitters, Fitbit, and Rackspace. This round of funding was led by Menlo Ventures with participation from Globespan Capital Partners, SAP Ventures and Correlation Ventures.
