Earlier this month, Glossybox hit four million beauty boxes sold. This means that they have sold a beauty box every 20 seconds since the company launched in 2011. Glossybox was incubated at Rocket Internet in Berlin, Germany. Glossybox operates in 15 countries on 3 continents. The company is backed by Holtzbrinck Ventures and Investment AB Kinnevik.
“When we started our company in 2011, we only had one goal: To provide a broad range of tailored beauty products to different peer groups with a constant element of surprise. Now, less than two and a half years later, we sold our four-millionth box,” stated Glossybox founder Charles von Abercron.
Glossybox has over 200,00 subscribers. The company said that their elegant and creative boxes with a surprise element is the reason for their success. The company can cater to men, women, teens, brides, and expecting mothers.
Glossybox’s success is also a good thing for big brands like Burberry, L’Oréal, and Yves Saint Laurent. Glossybox has over 400 partners and they receive “detailed insights about the adoption of products.” Users can sign up for subscription boxes and special one-off boxes.
The Glossybox Beauty has five cosmetic and body care products that is sent to their customers every month.
