GM Names Robert Ferguson As Cadillac’s Global Brand Chief

General Motors has announced today that they have appointed Robert E. Ferguson as the global growth and development head for the Cadillac brand.  This move is starting immediately and Mr. Ferguson will report directly to GM chairman and CEO Dan Akerson.  Mr. Ferguson will be responsible for the marketing, brand management, and advertising for Cadillac in markets across the world.

?Bob is a proven leader with vision and a will to win at this critical time for Cadillac,? stated Mr. Akerson. ?He brings a deep business and marketing background that has been marked by delivering results at every stop and under every circumstance. The Cadillac brand will hit a higher gear under his watch.”

Mr. Ferguson is becoming responsible for Cadillac’s global brand at a time when the car company is planning their most extensive round of vehicle upgrades in history.  Cadillac is planning to enter new international markets with industry-lead automotive vehicles like the XTS, ATS, and SRX.

“I?m excited to join a talented team during a period of revitalized growth,? stated Mr. Ferguson. ?The opportunity to strengthen and grow Cadillac is ours for the taking. More people in new markets will experience what makes Cadillac one of the industry’s most revered brands.”

Reporting to Mr. Ferguson will be Cadillac’s U.S. VP of marketing Don Butler and U.S. VP of Cadillac sales and service Chase Hawkins.  Mr. Ferguson joined GM in 2010 and is currently the VP for global public policy.  Mr. Ferguson is credited with helping GM strengthen their position and voice on Capitol Hill.
