General Motors is suspending the production of the Chevy Volt since sales are not meeting company expectations according to Bloomberg. In July, GM sold 10,666 Volts in the U.S., which is very short of the 45,000 that CEO Dan Akerson was hoping to sell this year, out of the 60,000 globally. General Motors is cutting their sales projections down to about 30,000-40,000. The Volt plant will now be shut down between September 17 and October 15. The company is also expected to retool the 2014 Impala.
