General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) has restarted the production of Tavera vehicles in India again, according to Reuters. The Tavera vehicles are built at the Chevrolet assembly line inside a plant in Halol, Gujarat.
GM received the regulatory approvals necessary for building the Tavera again. GM recalled 114,000 Tavera vehicles this past July due to issues related to emission standards and other regulatory specifications. GM halted the production and sales of the Tavera BS III and Tavera BS IV models.
“GM India has already received BS III 7,8,9 and 10 seaters type approvals and production has also started,” stated GM India Vice President Balendran in an interview with Reuters. “BS IV approval is under process and approval is expected anytime now and will start production soon.”
