General Motors is testing the new Corvette Stingray at the Nürburgring racetrack and now photos have surfaced of the sports car catching some air. We are pretty sure that GM recorded lap times, but they are mum on those numbers for now.
GM did release a video of the 2014 Corvette Stingray being driven at the Dudenhofen Test Center in Germany though:
These test procedures in Europe are part of GM’s standard quality control program. The tests are conducted on each new Chevrolet model before it goes for sale in Europe.
“Nürburgring is renowned for its demanding race track and it is perfectly suited for our purpose, which is to fine-tune the ride and handling characteristics of the European Corvette Stingray,” stated GM vehicle dynamics engineer Jim Mero. “We are paying particular attention to the suspension set-up and the steering at Nürburgring. European roads are quite distinct and different from those in the U.S., and so are driving habits.”
