Good Technology files to go public

Good Technology is company that helps enterprises manage mobile devices. Good Technology has filed the paperwork for a public stock offering, according to a registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Good Technology has not determined the price or number of shares it will sell.

Good Technology posted a $118.4 million net loss on revenue of $160.4 million. In 2012, Good Technology reported a loss of $90.5 million on revenue of $116 million. The revenue was a mix of recurring revenue and perpetual licenses. Through 2019, Good recognizes intellectual property from a 2009 deal with BlackBerry that included a $267.5 million license payment.

VMware acquired AirWatch for $1.5 billion, which is a smaller rival of Good Technology. Good Technology used to be owned by Motorola, but it is now privately held and is backed by Blueprint Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, ePlanet Capital, GKM Newport, Meritech Capital Partners, Oak Investment Partners and Rustic Canyon Partners.
