Google has announced a new app built into Google Hangouts. The new feature, known as “Google Capture” let users capture photos of a Hangout that is in progress to that they can share they can relive some of the best moments later on.
“The challenge, oftentimes, is capturing your favorite moments as they happen, so today we’re introducing the new Hangouts Capture app. With it you can take pictures of your Hangouts-in-progress, including a number of features not available in the usual screenshot workarounds,” said Senior Software Engineer Jeremy Ng in a Google+ post.
Google Capture lets Hangout users take photos of a Hangout that is taking place and the photos are stored in a shared folder for all of the participants in Hangout. The Google Hangout party will be notified when the screenshot app is in use and will receive a notification when a photo is taken. The Google Capture app will be available soon within the traditional Hangouts app along with YouTube and Effects.
