Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has announced that they have updated the Google Search app for the iPad. Searching on the new Google iPad app is faster and more interactive. When you start typing, Google Instant starts displaying results. Once you select a website to visit, you will notice that the page will load on a slide-in pane that layers over search results. You can slide back to the pane to the right to get back to the search results. And you can also keep scrolling through the results as the website loads so you can go back and forth from the results to websites.
When you tap on image results, you will see a new image carousel. After selecting an image, you can easily swipe through the carousel to see similar images. There is a visual way to explore search history. You can swipe right to view snapshots of pages that you have visited and organized by search terms.
The new Google iPad app has Instant Previews so you can compare websites before selecting the result. Tapping on the icon at the top right of the screen shows you a visual preview of the pages.
Other Google services like Google News, Google Calendar, Google Apps, and Google+ are in the slide-in pane. When sliding the pane to the right, you will get back to searching again. The app works on iOS 4.0 for iPads. You can download the app from the Apple App Store [iTunes link] today. Check out the video demo below:
