Google has updated Picasa with a new feature called Google+ Auto Backup. Google+ Auto Backup lets you automatically back-up photos and videos from a directory that the user selects to connect to your Google+ account.
The Google+ Auto Backup service is separated from Picasa software package, but is available through the Picasa download. The app can save unlimited 2048px photos to your Google+ account or full-quality versions can be uploaded assuming that you want to chip away at your Google Drive space.
The folder can also copy media from storage cards or devices connected to your computer. The ability to back-up photos to Google+ has been around on mobile devices for a while, but adding a desktop version of the service makes image uploading even more convenient.
