Google Buys Clever Sense, Parent Company Of Alfred Mobile App

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has acquired Clever Sense, the parent company of mobile application Alfred. The Alfred mobile application gives personalized recommendations for restaurants, coffee shops, bars, etc. The financial terms of the deal was undisclosed and the Clever Sense team will be hired into Google’s local services division immediately.

Clever Sense was planning on launching a service that would focus on making deal recommendations on websites like Groupon and LivingSocial. Last week Clever Sense was rumored to be in talks with Groupon for an acquisition.
