Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) announced that they are expanding Google Fiber to 34 new cities in 9 metro areas such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, and Phoenix, San Jose, and Salt Lake City. Google will be working closely with city leaders on joint planning processes to map out the Fiber network.
“While we do want to bring Fiber to every one of these cities, it might not work out for everyone,” said Google in an announcement. Google Fiber is currently only available in Kansas City and Provo, Utah. Google is bringing Fiber to Austin, Texas next.
Google Fiber offers users cable and Internet for $120 per month or unbundled gigabit Internet for $70 per month.
