Google Glass Developer Creates GTA3 GPS App

Posted Oct 7, 2013

Google Glass app developer Mike DiGiovanni has created a real-time GPS app for the game Grand Theft Auto 3 (GTA3) that can be used with the smart-glasses device.  The app recreates the in-game map so that you can see it easier.  Typically the GPS map in the game sits at the bottom corner.

“Yes, it’s realtime GPS for GTA3 on Glass,” said DiGiovanni in a Google+ post.  “I love the thought of Glass as an accessory for gaming. It’s not the best use of development time or money at this point, but it’s one hell of a fun idea.”

DiGiovanni plans on creating a similar app for Grand Theft Auto 4 and Grand Theft Auto 5.  Google Glass will likely be available for the public starting next year.  Only a limited number of developers have test devices right now.
