Google is now letting developers build apps for the Chromecast through new SDK

Posted Feb 3, 2014

Google has released a Chromecast software development kit (SDK) called the Google Cast SDK today. This will let developers add Chromecast integration to their Android, iOS, and web applications. Google launched the Chromecast nine months ago to support only several apps like YouTube, Netflix, and the Chrome browser. Several more apps were added to the platform after a few months like Pandora and Hulu Plus.

Now developers will actually be able to publish their apps to end users since the reliability of the SDK has been increased. Google especially has an interest in multi-player gaming implementations. Google wants to increase the Chromecast ecosystem this year.
