Even though many people say that Google+ receives a fraction of the traffic that their rivals are seeing, their social network is showing some promise. Visits to Google+ grew 27% from the previous month according to Experian Hitwise and they hit 61 million visits in March. Google+’s growth has grown steadily in monthly visits since they went live last June.
Google CEO Larry Page said that Google+ now has 100 million active users, which is 10 million more than the figure that he shared with analysts in January.
The definition of “active” became suspicious when comScore released data that users spent 3.3 minutes on Google+ in January compared to 7.5 hours on Facebook. Google asserted that 50 million users accessed Google+ enhanced products daily and 100 million do so once per month. “Google+ enhanced” includes YouTube, Google Play, and the search engine though. I believe that this means engaging with the +1 button across all of those websites.
