Google’s homepage is paying homage to Winsor McCay.  Google’s homepage currently has an interactive comic strip of “Little Nemo In Slumberland,” the cartoon created by Mr. McCay.  Winsor McCay was born in 1869 in the modest town of Spring Lake, Michigan.  The strip ran in newspapers between 1905 and 1914.  When Nemo would go to sleep, he would wake up in Slumberland alongside Princess Camille and king Morpheus.  At the end of each strip, Nemo would wake up in his bed.  The strip inspired a film in 1989 and the 1990 video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) called Little Nemo: The Dream Master.  ?McCay?s work is thought to have influenced generations of animators, including future stars of the industry such as Walt Disney,? said the Telegraph UK.  Google’s homepage represents a full strip of the “Little Nemo” comic.
